Salons offer the opportunity to mingle and chat with artists and others in a private, cultural setting (locations vary). A brief lecture, exhibit or performance is followed by a buffet, featuring African cuisine or formal meal served by staff in African attire. Paintings and sculptures of Nigerian artist Abayomi Barber were featured in a salon exhibit in May 2002.

Seminars are an opportunity to meet with artists, writers and poets, who present their works also in readings, discussions and lectures. Seminars are combined with salons, an informal setting for networking partipants and presenters.

Exhibits displaying objects of African artistic expression, including wood and iron carvings, beadwork, print, as well as paintings and fabric designs, are presented at various locations throughout the year.
